A Pentecostal Church based in Minna, Niger State, known as ‘The Voice of Mercy Ministry,’ is demanding swift justice from security agencies in collaboration with the state government following the brutal murder of a female Associate Professor at the Federal University of Technology Minna.
The church expressed deep sorrow and shock at the tragic and senseless murder of their beloved pastor, Dr. Mrs. Fumilola Adefolalu.
The church’s statement, signed by Pastor Bolaji Olanipekun, Head of the Media and Communication Department, was made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Minna.
The church expressed the deep impact of this heinous act on their congregation, uniting their resolve to seek justice for their dear pastor.
According to Pastor Olanipekun, “We commend the efforts of the law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation thus far, and we express our gratitude for their diligent work in apprehending one of the principal suspects.
We hope that this arrest will lead to the arrest of other perpetrators who are involved in the wicked act and lead to further progress in uncovering the truth and bringing all those responsible to justice”.
The statement reads in parts, “We call upon the security operatives and every law enforcement agency involved in this case to leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of justice.
We urge them to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation, ensuring that all evidence is diligently examined and all leads are followed.
“As a church, we stand on the path for truth and justice and declare that everyone involved in the murder of our pastor faces the full wrath of the law. We are seeking justice for her untimely and unjust demise. We trust that the law will ensure that those responsible for this horrific crime are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law”.
Olanipekun said, “The loss of Pastor Dr Mrs Fumilola Adefolalu has left an indelible void within our church. Her unwavering faith, compassion, and dedication to serving others will always be remembered”.
The statement stressed that “we extend our deepest gratitude to all those who have offered their support, prayers, and condolences during this challenging time”, emphasising that “we kindly request that the privacy of Pastor Dr Funmilola Adefolalu’s family and our church community be respected as we grieve and navigate through this painful journey”.
Olanipekun thereby prayed, “May Pastor Dr Mrs Funmilola Adefolalu’s memory be a guiding light as we strive to heal, find solace, and forge ahead together.
