Represented by Mrs Ngozi Okorie, a management staff of the Commission at the sensitisation programme and validation of the NHRC service chapter held in Abuja yesterday. Ojukwu said there is a nexus between the NHRC and SERVICOM (Service charter), as both gears towards the improvement in service delivery in the country.
He said the Commission’s service charter will define the role of the Commission as a human right institution, show its commitment in carrying out its statutory functions and to provide information on how NHRC services can be accessed with the timeline.
In her speech, the national coordinator, SERVICOM, Mrs Nnena Akajemeni said the public has high expectation from the National Human Rights Commission in the area of service delivery.
She charged the staff of the Commission to work towards ensuring that Nigerians enjoy their rights, without any molestation from anybody of the institution.
“We should build a commission where human rights are upheld and Nigerians get quality service delivery,” she said.
