In a groundbreaking initiative to enhance healthcare delivery in Kaduna State, Dimagi Inc. and Solina Health have joined forces with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to partner with the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Board (KSPHCB) to reach out to 50,000 children with nutrition services in Kudan Local Government of the state.
Speaking at the launch event of the Dimagi ConnectChild Care Campaign, the Executive Secretary of KSPHCB, Dr. Bello Jamoh Yusuf, praised the collaboration as a transformative step towards addressing pressing healthcare challenges.
Represented by the Director of Administration, Mr. Maxwell U. Sanda, Dr. Yusuf reaffirmed the board’s commitment to ensuring the initiative’s success.
“The KSPHCB is committed to working hand-in-hand with Dimagi and Solina Health to secure the well-being of children in Kaduna,” he said.
Representing Solina Health, Obiabo Michael, who spoke on behalf of the Project Director, Demilade Osoteku, emphasized the critical role of digital technology in healthcare delivery and the far-reaching impact of the CommCare Connect platform.
“The CommCare Connect platform is a game-changer in how we approach child health. It harnesses digital technology and community-driven interventions to address immediate health needs while building scalable, sustainable solutions that can transform healthcare across Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa,” he said.
He stated that the program’s innovative approach combines technology and human resources, known as frontline workers, to deliver critical child health services directly to households.
“Key components include Vitamin A supplementation: maintaining healthy vision, supporting immune function, and reducing mortality risk from infectious diseases,” he added.
Mr. Michael explained that Kudan LGA was strategically chosen for its low saturation of existing nutrition interventions and as a priority area for addressing zero-dose cases.
He noted that to achieve the program’s goals, 25 community volunteers will conduct house-to-house visits, ensuring essential health services reach underserved families.
The launch event brought together key stakeholders, including UNICEF, the Accelerating Nutrition Results in Nigeria (ANRIN) project, and Alive & Thrive, who pledged their support for the initiative.
“The partnership underscores a collective commitment to creating a sustainable framework for improving child health outcomes in Kaduna State,” he stated.
