The Tracka Development Foundation, also known as “Zam Tracka,” has launched the Research and Policy Development (RAPID) project, aimed at analyzing and evaluating subnational fiscal policies in Zamfara State.
At a press conference in Gusau, the state capital, the founder and team lead, Fauzuddeen Mahmud, highlighted the organization’s achievements over the past four years, including:
– Tracking, monitoring, and reporting on 125 public projects worth N7.56 billion (approximately USD 11.3 million)
– Reaching over 1 million people through their initiatives
– Empowering citizens to demand transparency, social accountability, and effective service delivery
– Achieving a 71% increase in overall project completion rate in the state
The RAPID project seeks to provide institutional support to strengthen the fiscal space and streamline it for economic growth, reducing poverty and creating prosperity.
Zam Tracka has received international recognition, including the United Nations World Summit Awards on SDGs and being a finalist at the 2023 Commonwealth’s Innovation Awards.
