A Non-Governmental Organization(NGO), the Global Initiative for Peace Love and Care (GIPLC), dedicated to addressing critical medical issues faced by children in Nigeria, has set a profound impact by presenting life-changing cheques totalling over N100 million to Nigerian children requiring surgeries both within and outside the country.
These funds, equivalent to approximately $160,000.00, were generously raised during a remarkable birthday/charity dinner held in Paris, France.
The event, which was hosted by the Grand Patron, Igho Charles Sanomi, demonstrated the incredible power of compassion and unity in transforming lives.
The Presentation was graced by numerous children who have benefited from GIPLCs Touching Lives Everyday Projects across Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the National Coordinator of GIPLC, Nuhu Kwajafa, explained that the outreach is a partnership as he added the government is overwhelmed and every Nigerian has to wake up to its responsibilities to reach out to these kids who are in need.
He said: “UNICEF can never give any foundation to pay medical bills for any child. Every Nigerian should subscribe to this every month. If it is a thousand naira by one million Nigerians, that’s one billion naira which can save miles.
“Even the governors, each governor spent 10 million on logistics to come to Abuja every month. One million naira each from the governors will go a long way.”
“It’s a collective responsibility thing. Everyone should play their own part. People asked about sustainability, the question is how do you sustain churches and mosques? It is by participation. If people can contribute to sustain churches every Sunday, that means this can also be sustained too.”
Also, a mother, Ruth Joseph whose child is one of the beneficiaries said her son suffered a heart problem from age 9 but got respite when GIPLC gave her N10 million to care for her son’s ailment.
