A Bauchi based Non-governmental Organisation (NGO) known as Hake Humanitarian Aid Initiative, has condemned in strong terms the horrific rape and murder of a two-year-old girl in Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi.

The non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting human dignity and protecting vulnerable populations described the act as callous and wicked by the perpetrators.

The NGO, in a statement released to Journalists Wednesday evening, stated, “We are saddened by this unspeakable crime, which has left us all devastated.”

It stated that, “The brutal rape and murder of an innocent child is an indication of the alarming rate of sexual violence and impunity in our society.

“We, therefore, make demand the following: Bauchi State Police command intensify the investigation process, arrest and prosecution of the perpetrator(s) and Swift justice and severe penalties for the convicted”.

It further demanded strengthened laws and policies protecting children from sexual violence as well as support and protection for the victim’s family.

“We stand in solidarity with the victim’s family while we extend our condolences,” it concluded.
