New Year: Ekiti Rep salutes constituents, urges hope in new Nigeria

Published by

The member representing Ekiti North Federal Constituency II (Ido-Osi, Moba, Ilejemeje) in the House of Representatives, Hon. Akinlayo Davidson Kolawole, has greeted his constituents, Ekiti people, and Nigerians at large on the festive season of Christmas and the New Year, saying they must not lose hope in the emerging new Nigeria.

Honourable Akinlayo, in a statement, wished them a prosperous and fulfilling New Year while congratulating every Nigerian, particularly his constituents, for witnessing the New Year and prayed for a fruitful year for all of them.

In the statement he made available at his Ikosu home, Akinlayo said: “I congratulate my family and my dear constituents of Ekiti North Federal Constituency II, Ido-Osi, Moba, and Ilejemeje, Ekiti State, for witnessing 2025. I also want to heartily congratulate us on witnessing the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Indeed, 2024 was challenging, but it also recorded great fortunes for us. I urge us all to remain steadfast in the firm belief that Nigeria shall witness more glorious years ahead.

“As your representative, we appreciate your prayers, steadfastness, support, and the confidence reposed in us. In less than two years in office, we’ve been able to turn the fortunes of our people around for good, as we’ve facilitated jobs for some of our youths and improved decadent infrastructure—roads, health facilities, streetlights, and numerous social amenities.

“A few weeks ago, the bill to establish a School of Nursing and Midwifery scaled through the second reading in the House of Representatives, waiting for its concurrence in the Senate and subsequently the presidential assent. From our end, we’ve done so much to ensure a dignified life for our constituents. Regardless of how lofty our achievements may seem, we’ll not rest on our oars but rather continue to forge ahead in an effort to make life more abundant.

“As we enter the New Year, I urge us all to be more prayerful, stay safe, and out of trouble so that we shall embrace the year 2025 with much-renewed hope, expectations of better days, and fresh energy to forge ahead and realise a greater Nigeria. To our statesmen who have sacrificed through their services in building our great nation, to the middle-aged who are still giving their best in service, and to our teeming youths in whose strength our future lies, I wish you all a happy new and prosperous year 2025.”
