The speaker while felicitating with the people of the state and Nigerians as they entered the New year, commended them for their peaceful disposition in 2018 and urged them to do more to keep and sustain the peace.

“I want to first and foremost express gratitude to God for ushering us into the New Year in good health. And I want to also implore our people to maintain the prevailing peace and harmony in our dear state and country.

“No sacrifice is too much to make for peace. We do not have other state or country to call our own therefore we must do everything possible to live in peace with one another,’’he said.

Oborevwori while expressing optimism in the new year, assured the people of the state of more infrastructural development.

“2019 has a lot for the people of the state with the early passage and signing of the 2019 Appropriation Act by the governor.

“The stage is now fully set for the people of the state to witness more development.

“As a people let us look up to the new year with strong determination to succeed and hope for the best.

“This is an election year. We must allow peace to reign in all parts of the state during and after the election.

“I want to use this opportunity to call on the people to vote massively for Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa as he has done extremely well since he became the state governor in 2015,’’ he said.
