New Oyo SUBEB boss pledges open-door policy

Dr Nureni Adeniran, the new Chairman of Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has promised an open-door policy in the administration of the board.

Adeniran made the promise on Wednesday in Ibadan while addressing the staff of the board after assuming office.

The new chairman called on the staff to exhibit unparalleled diligence in the execution of their duties.

He further urged them to live above board and lend maximum support to the Seyi Makinde administration in the state.

The chairman, who noted that the present administration was genuinely poised toward boosting the education sector, said genuine change was underway.

He also promised that no member of staff would be deprived of any of their entitlements.

“Engr. Seyi Makinde’s government will dedicate nothing less than 10 per cent of the budget to education.

“All you need do as members of staff of this important agency is to give your best to achieve maximum progress.

“The present administration has shown from the start that it is going to be more action than talk.

“Your welfare and other needed input from the government will not elude you. Just be dedicated and do all toward the betterment of academic excellence in the state,” he said.

Responding on behalf of members of staff, the Acting Executive Secretary, Mr Olusanjo Adeniyi, pledged that SUBEB staff would work in tandem with government’s policies.

Adeniran was later conducted around the board’s promises by the acting Executive Secretary and other management staff.
