New Oyo CP declares zero tolerance for corruption

The new Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mr Sam Adegbuyi ,has declared zero tolerance for corruption, charging officers of the command on the need to do their policing job with the fear of God.

The  commissioner  said this  during a meeting with the Divisional Police Officers(DPOs), Officers in Charge of departments and units in the commands as well as other officers at the command headquarters , Eleiyele, Ibadan.

In attendance were the Commissioner of Police in charge of Police Medical Services, Zone X1, Dr Efunsola Sowemimo; Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Sanusi Buba; Area Commanders and other Assistant Commissioners of Police in charge of Operations, Administration and Police Training School.

Adegbuyi enjoined the officers to always make themselves available so that members of the public would be able to reach them easily.

He also warned against extra- judicial killing,  adding  that due process of the law must be followed in every case.

“Arrest must be made; and after investigation, there must be diligent prosecution,” he said

The police commissioner also stressed that there must be continuous synergy with sister security agencies to form a combined formidable team that would tackle issues of crime and security.

He used the forum to assure the people of the  s tate of adequate protection of lives and property while he solicited their  support and cooperation which he said, are crucial to his success in the task of policing the state.

He harped on the need for members of the public to give information to help the police .
