New MAN leadership will ensure commitment to quality, standard — iron rod distributors

Members of the Iron Rod and Steel Distributors Employers Union of Nigeria (IRSDEUN) have described new leadership of the Basic Metal, Iron and Steel and Fabricated Metal Products Sectoral Group of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) as milestone for the industry.

In a statement by the president of the IRSDEUN, Chief Gbenga Awoyale, he said that new leadership of Prince Lekan Adewoye as chairman of the sectoral group of the MAN would further enhance the industry’s commitment to quality and standards.

According to members of the IRSDEUN, the new leadership would bring about positive changes and growth in the industry, saying that their optimism is assured, “given Adewoye’s wealth of experience and expertise in the steel sector.”

IRSDEUN, representing iron rod and steel distributors across the country, also believe that the new leadership will be instrumental in addressing challenges facing the sector, saying that the union is confident that the leadership will further enhance the industry’s commitment to quality and standards.

Awoyale, who pledged support and cooperation of his members to ensure success of the tenure, said that the Iron Rod and Steel Distributors Union has been at the forefront of advocating for standards and quality in the steel industry.

“Recently, the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has been working to curb the proliferation of substandard iron rods and steel products in the market. The union has been collaborating with SON to ensure that all iron rod and steel products meet the required standards.

“We are thrilled to have Prince Lekan Adewoye as the new Chairman of the Basic Metal, Iron and Steel, and Fabricated Metal Products Sectoral Group of MAN.

“His leadership will undoubtedly bring about a new era of growth and development in the industry.”
