Olatunji Rilwan Disu has assumed duty as the 32nd Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command.
He took over on Monday from AIG Benneth Igweh, who was promoted to an Assistant Inspector General of Police and posted to Zone 7 Headquarters.
Born on the 13th of April 1966 in Lagos State, CP Disu holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Education from Lagos State University, along with two Master’s degrees: one in Public Administration from Adekunle Ajasin University, Ondo State, and another in Criminology, Security, and Legal Psychology from Lagos State University.
Disu enlisted in the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1992. He trained at the Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State. Prior to his current posting, he was the Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Police Command.
During his media briefing at the FCT Command headquarters, CP Disu assured residents of the FCT of his commitment to a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of crime and criminality. He emphasised that his tenure would prioritise effective law enforcement while respecting the rights of all citizens.
He also called for the public’s support and active participation in police efforts, highlighting that policing is a collective responsibility.
