New CP assumes duty in Kogi

The newly deployed Commissioner of Police to Kogi State, Miller Dantawaye has assumed office.

Dantawaye, who replaced Bethrand Onuoha after his retirement from service on 21st January 2025 was received by top Police officers at the Command headquarters in Lokoja.

Dantawaye is the 39th Commissioner of Police deployed to Kogi State.

Addressing journalists the Commissioner of Police vowed to sustain the onslaught on criminals and their hideouts and make Kogi State safer for residents.

“Criminal elements terrorizing Kogi State should relocate now because we are coming after them. Kogi State is not for them. I am not here to joke. The Inspector General of Police in his wisdom deem it fit for me to be posted here as Commissioner of Police following my track record”.

“I will bring my wealth of experience to the bear in nipping crimes in the bud in Kogi State. I have learnt a lot from the People I have worked with. When crime is on the increase, I always have a way to bring it to the barest minimum. So, those criminal elements should know that Kogi State is no longer their place”, he stressed.

Dantawaye, who is a former Deputy Commissioner of Police, operations in Edo and Yobe State noted that the Command will continue to synergize with other sister security agencies in nipping crimes in the bud.
