The newly sworn-in president of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), Nigeria, Mallam Ahmed Ladan Gobir, has assured stakeholders of his administration’s determination to continually strengthening the institute’s position as the preferred choice for people management, elevating its brand and digitalising its operations so as to cut costs.
Mallam Gobir unveiled the agenda shortly after taking an oath of office as the institute’s 21st president, in Lagos, recently.
The new CIPM boss emphasised the importance of adapting to an evolving Human Resource (HR) landscape, while also reinforcing the institute’s position as a global leader in people management, both locally and internationally.
Encapsulating his administration’s agenda in the catch word ‘SOAR,’ Mallam Gobir noted that the agenda will serve as the administration’s guiding framework of the next phase of the institute’s evolution.
While ‘S’, he stated: “represents the desire of the exco to strengthen CIPM’s position as an institute of choice for people management, across the globe, ‘O’ represents the commitment of the new administration to optimising the value the institute offers to its members.
“A’ represents desire to continue to automate our operations for efficiency, while ‘R’ represents the new leadership’s commitment to re-skilling and retooling its employees and leaders.”
Congratulating the new CIPM president, the chairman of the event, Professor Tunji Olaopa, expressed confidence that the new president will not only work on the existing structure of the institute’s former presidents and forefathers, but also lay full solid foundation of its own that will keep the institute on course as a change agent in the nation’s efforts at coming up with world class civil service.
