Still, to this age, from time seemingly immemorial, music has been an infallible measure to appeal to emotions. It rages like fever in the night, and still, like the gentle river. One of its genres, Afrobeats, even before being a tool for fun, festivities, or protest, has been a tool that emanated from rites and culture. However, today, after its soar to the crest and its perches in every nook and cranny of the world, singers like Netosounds have its hold and have since been contributing their quota to the genre.
Sanuth Abdul-Lateef Olamilekan, popularly known by his stage name Netosounds, hails from the city of rocks; not the scenic view alone, but an abode of strength, wisdom, cultural antiquities, and currently the hub of traditional fashion, sports, and arts: Abeokuta, Ogun State. While many learned music, Netosounds literally became music himself. This isn’t sugar-coated but resonated with him even while he was a child. When he was little, he realized music was one of the things that came naturally to him—almost the only thing that appealed to him.
Netosounds began his professional musical career journey in 2014 with the release of his single. After this, he took the turn of being a music producer. He calls these phases of his, smooth and challenging. Netosounds has been an assiduous music producer who commits his all to the arts. At some points in his life, decisions came to him as crossroads, and what he’s learned and also teaches others is resilience, diligence, and being true to oneself.
Evolving musically, Netosounds has had robust collaborations with fantastic creatives over the years. Notable among them were MD Odubella, Teediz, Marvy-J, and Kinyemi Shine. While it seems Netosounds left the musical act’s status to being a producer, these artistes have helped Netosounds in the shaping of his sound.
The sounds of global pop and R&B royalty, specifically artists such as Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, Ciara, Beyoncé, and Rihanna, deeply influenced NetoSounds’ musical development from an early age. Their artistry was crucial in refining his exceptional ear for rhythm and melody, which has since evolved to become the undeniable hallmark of his individual style as both a producer and a performer. Now that he’s staging a comeback to being an artiste, Netosounds is ready than the previous years, to take the music scene by its neck.
Beyond his production prowess, Netosounds also possesses a deeply rooted passion for the keys; he is currently a piano student and his brilliant imagination for melody creation is totally unmatched. This isn’t just a side talent; it’s a truly significant and invaluable asset that consistently imbues his musical creations. It’s like he has this secret ingredient—a natural feel for harmony and melody at his fingertips, that just elevates everything he touches, making his music resonate on a much richer, more human level. No doubt, NetoSounds
Netosounds began his educational pursuit at Saint Saviour’s Primary School in Ijegun. He later moved to Ota Total Academy, and next, Prince and Princess International College, Ogun State, for his secondary education. He bagged his tertiary certificates at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State.
Even without a debut EP under his belt, Netosounds is consistently putting in dedicated work behind the scenes. His forthcoming single, “Friends with Benefits,” slated for release next month, promises a refreshingly bold and candid perspective on the importance of transparency in relationships. He shares that the track is a powerful encouragement for listeners to embrace honesty from the very beginning, thereby sidestepping the inevitable heartbreak that often arises when connections are built on a foundation of deceit.
A decade ago, producers, especially YBNL’s sound prodigies Young Jonn and Pheelz, crafted hits like “Bobo” and “Eyan Mayweather,” and today, they’ve become global Afrobeats acts, dropping hit after hit. Likewise, Netosounds now gets ready to transition from the mixers to being a music act. With his production roots and refined sound, he’s stepping out with confidence. The spotlight is shifting, and he’s ready to own it.
As the second half of 2025 draws near, Netosounds’ fans can expect a shuddering push of his talents, a provocative soar of his creativity, and the entertainment of all and sundry, even while he finds a space to resonate with them on a deeper level. Netosounds is a delight to watch grow into his god-like state in the Nigerian music industry.
