The Nembe Chiefs Council (NCC), in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, has inaugurated a 15-member executive to pilot its affairs.
Chief Walter Feghabo-Amain, a former Military Administrator of Ebonyi and Delta states, emerged the new Alternate-Chairman of NCC.
Feghabo-Amain’s nomination was announced by the monarch of Nembe Kingdom, Dr Edmund Dakoru, Amanayabo of Nembe, at the end-of-year meeting of the Chiefs Council at Mingi’s palace in Nembe.
Feghabo-Amain will be assisted by a 14-member executive council.
Dakoru, in his speech, commended the federal and Bayelsa State governments and several companies for the progress in different aspects of life in Nembe kingdom.
He said the construction of a road to Nembe and internal roads within the community had facilitated movement of goods and services and made life easier for the people.
Dakoru commended security agencies in the state and the prevailing people of Nembe for the peace in the kingdom.
The traditional ruler challenged the people of Nembe to capitalise on the situation by engaging in lawful commercial activities to boost the economy of the state and the Kingdom.
Other members of the new Nembe chiefs include, Chief A. Ekigha-Iweka, Vice Chairman; Chief Emmanuel Warinboye Ikurite, Secretary; Chief Inatimi-Yemanain, Treasurer.
Also in the executive are Chief William Olali Inbiyaibugo, Legal Liaison Officer; Chief Biterefie Iyalla Peresuo, Auditor; Chief Beinmote Egi-Dani, Financial Secretary and Chief Nathan Egba Ologo, Publicity Secretary.
Others are Chief T. D. Obiene Ilegimokuma, Assistant Secretary; Chief Inemiegha Inemiegha and Chief Lucky Obiene Oru-Bokolo are Provosts 1 and 2 while Chief Omolo Tengi, Chief Baratuapire Adongoi-Oruwari and Chief Nengi James Eriworio are ex-officio members.
