The need for harmonious coexistence among adherents of the two major religions in the country particularly the youths for nation-building has been stressed.
The call was made by the Convener of Peace Ambassador Summit 2020, Rev Father Henry L. Dabang while speaking to Journalists during a one day summit organized for youths drawn from the two religions, Islam and Christianity from selected LGAs in Bauchi and Gombe states.
The Clergyman further stressed that at this time of pandemic in the world what is needed is peace and peaceful coexistence to be able to tackle the menace headlong pointing out that without peace no meaningful development can be achieved.
He explained that during the one day program, the participants will be lectured on various aspects of peacebuilding and harmonious leaving because according to him there is no way adherents of the two religions will not intermingle with each other.

Henry Dabang added that the summit was put together with a collaborative effort between Misereor in conjunction with Justice Development and Social Cohesion Initiative with the aim of bridging the gaps of misunderstanding between the two groups.
He assured that his NGO will seek collaboration with others with the same objectives in order to ensure that understanding of the tenets of each of the religions was well understood and practised without unnecessary tension building.
The Convener expressed optimism that at the end of the programme, the participants would have been well equipped to go back to their respective places and set up their own cluster groups to promote peace and peaceful living among the people.
During the program which was held at Fatima Social Center, Bauchi drew resource personnel from uniformed agencies in the state who delivered papers on peace and harmonious coexistence among the citizens.
