NDLEA arrests 198 drug suspects at graveyard, joints in Kano

Kano State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in its effort to sanitise the society from act of immorality and criminality, has arrested 198 suspects involved in illicit drug dealings after a raid in some graveyards and drug joints.

This was just as the command said that among these arrests, 42 suspects were nabbed in the Dan Agundi Graveyard, which had been identified as another location used for drug-related activities.

Making this known in a statement signed by the spokesperson of the Command, Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari, on Wednesday, a copy made available to press in Kano.

He disclosed that the arrest was made during the ongoing “Operation Hana Maye”, which was launched recently by the commander, Abubakar Idris, to combat drug abuse and trafficking.

The statement stated that among those arrested were 61 suspects, including 15 females in a club that had been transformed into an illicit drug joint.

Maigatari hinted that “The operation also dismantled drug joints in Sheka graveyard and Sheka Obajana.”

“These arrests demonstrate the command’s commitment to dismantling drug networks and eliminating drug trafficking hotspots in the state,” he said.

Maigatari also added that  the command dislodged 21 drug joints during the course of the operation, which serve as hubs for drug trafficking and consumption, posing a threat to the safety and well-being of the community.

The command then vowed to continue to arrest all those bad elements, who were into shady attitudes and not ready to do a normal businesses.
