The National Directorate of Employment(NDE) has disbursed multi-million equipment and tools to beneficiaries of the Environmental Beautification Training Scheme under the Special Public Works(SPW) department.
The Director General of NDE, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo who spoke during the disbursement ceremony in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital said the beneficiaries have been trained by the directorate on series of high demand and money-making skills in the society.
Represented by the state coordinator of NDE, Sanusi Akeem , the DG explained that the equipment given to the beneficiaries and the training would help them be self-reliant financially in line with the mandate of the directorate.
He added that the skills involved tilling works, setting and maintenance of interlocks, Krebs and also raising and nurseries, planting and maintenance of grasses, shrubs , trees in parks, including plaster of paris(P.O.P) design and production for home building aesthetics.
He said, “ This ceremony marks the complementary phase of the total empowerment package designed by the directorate in ensuring that you achieve a qualitative, cutting-edge and relevant life-altering training so as to make you ultimately self-reliant.
“ I want you to demonstrate a high sense of commitment with passion to ensure that the effort of the federal government through NDE on job creation and employment generation is visibly fulfilled.”
He advised the beneficiaries to remain committed and dedicated to the work they have leaned towards improving their economic status and create employment opportunities for others in the society.
