The state council also condemned the invasion of the headquarters of NCSU by thugs allegedly led by one Mr. Menele Nzide, who has long been expelled by the union, and allegedly carted away over N10 million meant for the payment of staff salary.
The Chairman of the Council of States Chairmen, Comrade Kasim Inuwa, who spoke with journalists after the meeting of the council in Abuja, called on the members of the Union not to be distracted as the leadership of the Union has resolved to place the welfare of all civil servants in the country, above any other interest.

He said: “As law abiding citizens, we shall continue to obey court rulings and ordered, pending the outcome of the matter in Court. We also urge all members of the union not to be distracted as the leadership is resolved to ensure an improve welfare of civil servants in the country”.
On the invasion of the headquarters of the Union, he explained that a group of hoodlums accompanied by some Police officers invaded the headquarters of the union in Abuja and carted away over N10 million just collected for the payment of staff salary.
He said the hoodlums also destroyed property worth over N25 million, adding that the hoodlums who invade the office like armed robbers, “asked our staff to lie down and beat them with dangerous weapons.”
However, he commended the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris for his prompt response to save the situation; and called
on him to as a matter of urgency bring all the perpetrators to book, including the police officers who accompanied the hoodlums to carry out the act.
He said: “The Council of States of 36 states and FCT NCSU strongly condemned the invasion and wanton destruction of properties, carting away of Staff salaries as well as molestation of Staff of the national Secretariat by an imposters led by one Nzede.
“While commending the IGP for his prompt response to save the situation, we urged him to ensure all those involved are brought to book to serve as deterrent to others.
“The Council of state also pass a vote of confidence on the leadership of the caretaker committee headed by Comrade Lawrence Amaechi for efforts in bringing peace and welfare of the members.”
