The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has announced plans to explore Israel’s agricultural technology to enhance the Christian pilgrimage programme
Receiving members of the House Committee on Christian Pilgrimage Affairs recently, Bishop Adegbite explained that pilgrims would acquire skills in Israel’s agricultural technology to replicate in their local communities upon return.
Bishop Adegbite praised his predecessors, particularly Professor John Kennedy Opara, for their legacies and contributions to the Commission’s growth.
He highlighted the Commission’s pre-visit and state-of-readiness visits to the Holy Land, ensuring a smooth pilgrimage process.
The Commission has also produced a calendar of events outlining the pilgrimage programmes with Easter pilgrimage running from April to July and the main pilgrimage from November to February.
In addition to pilgrimage, Bishop Adegbite emphasized his role as an Ambassador of Peace, promoting interfaith harmony as directed by President Bola Tinubu.
The Chairman of the House Committee on Christian Pilgrimage, Honourable Festus Ayodele, commended Bishop Adegbite for his warm reception and excellent work. He appreciated the staff’s support and emphasised the need for synergy and cooperation between the committee and NCPC. He urged the commission to carry them along and provide necessary information for effective performance.
