The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Reverend Tor Uja has said that the Commission would build about eight Pilgrimage Heritage Centres, in Abuja and other states in the country.

He disclosed this recently in Abuja at  a reception in his honour by management and staff of the commission for his one year anniversary in office. Reverend Uja called on the government and well meaning Nigerians to support the commission in this laudable project.

Reverend Uja also tasked the church to take responsibility of change in the country to promote development. He further called on the church in Nigeria to assume ownership of Christian pilgrimage as government cannot continue to do it alone.

The NCPC boss affirmed that there were many things that should be reorganised in the country and as such he said: “I want us to defend what belongs to us”.

He further stressed, “We must rebuild this country and resist all the elements that support our backwardness”.

He told the NCPC staff that his goal is to enable people achieve and realise their dreams. His words: “I want people around me to be captains and not recruits; I want people to be quintessential leaders”.

The NCPC helmsman further stressed that he would want staff of the commission to labour for the future as the it would certainly be better than the present.

He explained that with good support from the government, the church and well meaning Nigerians, the commission would be able to stabilise in all ramifications in the next five years.

Reverend Uja thanked the entire NCPC staff for the reception in his honour as he assured them of more promising years ahead.

The event started with a prayer session at NCPC Chapel with some guest ministers in attendance.

It would be recalled that the NCPC boss assumed office on May 23, 2016 as the second Executive Secretary of the commission following his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari.
