Reverend Tor Uja, NCPC boss
The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, (NCPC) Reverend Tor Uja has commended the leadership and entire members of the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church for the long history of evangelism and outreach that the church is known for.
He disclosed this recently in Abuja during a dinner in honour of His Most Eminence, Baba Aladura, Dr David Bob-Manuel.
Uja urged the church to ensure they restore the spirit of evangelism and by extension, restore the glory of the church.
He revealed that NCPC would like to host the church and Celestial Church of Christ to a revival conference next year after which the process for their participation in pilgrimage would begin.
The NCPC Chief Executive further urged the church to go back and recruit the youth back to the church and make them bedrock of development. According to him, “we need to develop a youth ministry that will make the church vibrant and purposeful”.
In his address, Baba Aladura, Dr Bob-Manuel thanked the organizers for putting together a befitting reception in his honour.
He encouraged the members of the church to maintain a high standard of ethical practices in both the practice of Christian piety and in the liturgical practices of the Holy Order.
His Most Eminence also reminded members of the Abuja province of the church of the importance of Abuja as the seat of Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Consequently, he said “this makes it imperative that every member should be circumspect in their dispositions, so that they will not indulge in any ungodly act that may tarnish the name and image of our church”
He further urged them to be supportive of government and her policies. According to His Eminence, “it is our civil responsibility to do so; we owe it first to God, the Nigerian nation, the local community where we live or work, and to ourselves”.
The Executive Secretary of NCPC was supported at the event by Mr. Danjuma Elabi, Head of Administration NCPC, Mr. John Tor Akume, Special Assistant to the Executive Secretary, Mr. Celestine Toruka, Head, Media Unit, Mr. Fred Obika, Personal Assistant to the Executive Secretary on Media and Special Duties and Mr. Lekan Olarewaju, Personal Assistant to the Executive Secretary on protocol
