The Executive Secretary Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Yakubu Pam has been honoured with two major awards by the Arewa Media Publications Event Company Kaduna, during a recent visit to the NCPC Corporate headquarters in Abuja.
The Arewa Media Publications Event Company conferred Rev. Dr Yakubu Pam with the award of Excellence as Public Service Person of the Decade and Top Best Run Government Organisation of the Decade in Professionalism, Commitment to Duty, Efficiency and Service Delivery.
In his remark, the NCPC Chief Executive thanked the Arewa Media Publications Event Company for conferring the awards on him.
He said he was elated “as every award is a big booster. This comes as a way of national unity, a way of building relationships. Arewa is my Home”, he exclaimed.
Speaking on the Act and activities of NCPC, he said NCPC regulates pilgrimage to Israel, Rome, Greece and Jordan, adding that he visited the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria for the ongoing Catholic Bishop Conference of Nigeria where he appreciated the Catholic Church for preserving the Christian Holy Sites in the world.
The NCPC boss thanked the Arewa Media Publications Event Company for finding him worthy for the awards. He called on other Chief Executives to sit up to do things the public would appreciate.
“The work of peace was part of the mandate I received from President Muhammadu Buhari and I will not relent to build and do more on what I have started.”
The leader of the delegation, Prince Joshua Adeleke who is the Publisher/Editor-in- Chief, while addressing and presenting the awards described the Chief Executive as unprecedented and noble. He lauded the Executive Secretary for being hardworking, innovative and dynamic.
The Editor-in-Chief further praised the contributions of Rev. Pam toward the growth of mankind and peace. He said, “you have been a good ambassador intervening through the arms of NCPC, bringing peace and dialogue to Southern Kaduna and holding a peace summit in Lagos immediately after the EndSars protest.”
Joshua Adeleke thanked the Executive Secretary for driving peace while carrying out the activities of pilgrimage as he said, “Pilgrimage has been unprecedented and exceptional; your tremendous efforts were seen during the last Pilgrimage to Jordan despite the COVID-19 travel restrictions.” He added, “to us you are an Icon of Humanitarian Service.
