NBTE approves additional courses for Zamfara College of Health

The National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) has approved additional national diploma courses for Zamfara State College of Health Sciences and Technology (CHST) in Tsafe.

In a statement issued on Monday by the information officer of the college, Jamilu Sani Tsafe said the development marks a significant milestone for the college, as it expands its educational offerings to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in the healthcare sectors.

According to the Provost, Alhaji Hamisu Yusuf Yelwa, who expressed his appreciation for the approval, highlighted the rigorous process undertaken by the college to secure accreditation for the new courses.

Among the newly approved courses are National Diploma programs in Public Health, Epidemiology and Disease Control, Environmental Health Technology, Dental Surgery Technology, Computer Sciences, Health Information Technology, and Biomedical Engineering.

Additionally, various existing programs such as Community Health Technology and Environmental Health Technology have also been included in the list of approved courses.

He revealed that the approved courses have broadened curricula which reflects the college’s commitment to providing the students with diverse educational opportunities in high-demand fields.

“The NBTE’s assurance that graduates from 2018 to 2023 will receive admission to universities without the need for a JAMB number is a testament to the quality of education provided by the College of Health Sciences and Technology in Tsafe,” he said

The provost further revealed that in response to the increased demand for healthcare workers, the college has expanded the number of slots available for Community Health Extension Workers (CHEW) and Junior Community Health Extension Workers (JCHEW).

He said, “The approval of these new National Diploma courses at the College of Health Sciences and Technology in Tsafe is a testament to the institution’s dedication to providing quality education and training in key areas of healthcare and technology.”
