President, Nigerian Baptist Convention, who also doubles as the national president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Reverend Dr Samson Ayokunle, has tasked youths to embrace entrepreneurship skills, rather than roam the streets in search of white collar jobs.

He stated this at the third graduation ceremony of the Skill Acquisition, Training and Empowerment Centre (SATEC) of the NBC, on February 20, 2018, at Baptist Building, Okebola, Ibadan.

He enjoined the graduands to go out and empower others, just as he advised them not to rely on their degrees and, instead, learn new vocations that would put food on their table.

Coordinator of SATEC, Revd (Mrs) Adenike Victor-Tade, in her address, called on local churches to look inward and support the youths.

Chief Executive Officer of Ace Supermarket, Mr Yinka Afonja, in his lecture at the event, tasked the youths to be self-reliant, independent and responsible citizens by acquiring new skills that would empower them to become self-sufficient

He advised the graduands to cherish purpose and focus, perseverance, strategy, mentors, integrity and honesty and be prayerful.

Certificates of merit were given to graduates who performed outstandingly in the course of the programme.

Also in attendance were the NBC vice-president (ministerial), Revd Dr Dickson Madogwe; the All Africa Baptist Youth Fellowship President; the Aare Ofiki in Atisbo Local Government, Oba Gbenga Adigun Adeoye; Director of Social Welfare, NBC, Revd Dr (Mrs) Kikelomo; President of Baptist Women Missionary Union, Revd Mrs Lateju, represented by Mrs Olaniran, among others.
