Naytan out with new single, ‘Ochendo’

In the spirit of the Yuletide season, Afro Soul singer and performing artiste, Anayo Ifeka, popularly known as Naytan, has released his new single, entitled ‘Ochendu’, which acknowledges Chi (God) as the protector and defender of the righteous.

According to Naytan, ‘Ochendo’, a feel-good and soothing tune was produced in Lagos, and E.P. (Extended Play) comprising of not more than six tracks is set to drop.

The song, which is on selected music sites and his YouTube page, has received accolades from fans and lovers of good music. His music blends elements of Alternative Rock, Afro Pop, and soul making his tune into a versatile sound that has captivated audiences since he emerged on the professional music scene in 2012.

His band, Naytan & The Harmonyshade, has graced stages both within and beyond Nigeria. Their dynamic performances have left an indelible mark on renowned events like Fête de la Musique, presented by the Alliance Française, and The Lagos Theatre Festival, among others.

Naytan, a Nigerian-born musician, singer, and songwriter has a musical journey of ten years. Growing up, Naytan drew inspiration from an eclectic array of musical genres and artists, including the likes of Tracy Chapman, Michael Jackson, Salif Keita, Lokua Kanza, and various facets of Nigerian music from Highlife to Fuji and Afrobeat.

A testament to his reverence for his musical influences, Naytan once delivered a spellbinding rendition of Lokua Kanza’s hit ‘Plus Vivant’ on Ebonylife TV, a standout moment on one of Nigeria’s premier entertainment channels.

Anticipation is now at its peak as Naytan prepares to unveil an EP album, slated for release before the year’s end. This meticulously crafted collection of songs, including titles like ‘Ochendu’, ‘Fatoumata’, and ‘Distance’, promises to be a masterstroke.
