Navy tasks personnel against professional misconduct

CHIEF of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ette Ibas, has urged the personnel of the Central Naval Command of the Nigerian Navy to guide against any act that could lead them to professional misconduct.

The Naval boss  stated this on Monday,  during the dedication of a newly built Chapel  at the Central Naval Command headquarters in Yenagoa, adding that the chapelwas  to encourage officers in terms of morality.

Represented by the Chief Staff Officer in the Central Naval Command, Commodore Joseph Akpan, the Naval boss explained that the chaplain was to guide against misconduct of its  personnel and to put them in the right direction.

He explained that the Nigerian Navy was ready to fight all forms  of illegal activities in the Niger Delta region, especially pipeline vandalism, sea pirates, crude oil theft.

Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral Saidu Garba, described place of worship as very important to the Nigerian Navy.

Rear Admiral Garba who spoke through Commodore Richard Shammah, commended the Chief of Naval Staff, for keeping to his promise in the welfare of officers and men.

He urged them to take advantage of worship centre to enhance their spiritual life.
