National crises: Adeboye leads 33 churches in special prayer on Tuesday

As the nation steams in multi-dimensional crises, 33 Christian denominations have come together for a special intercession.

The special prayer, scheduled for Tuesday, February 13, is being coordinated by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

The General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, will lead the prayer at the Old Arena, Redemption Camp, KM 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.

Some of the participating ministries, according to a notice of the prayer circulated on the social media, on Friday, include Living Faith Ministries led by Bishop David Oyedepo, KICC led by Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo among others.

The focus of the gathering is to pray out cultism, corruption, ritualists, bloodshed, kidnappers and unemployment.

The intercession will last three hours; from 10 am to 1 pm.

The nation has witnessed unprecedented bloodshed in the last few years, with Fulani herdsmen rampaging through states in the North-Central, North-East and the three geo-political zones in the Southern part of the country.

Ritual killings, kidnapping and unemployment have also witnessed a spike in the last three years, with the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) officially disclosing that more than seven million persons had lost their jobs since the advent of this administration.

Mind-boggling alleged corruption cases have also been reported, with many top politicians and prominent public officials being probed and prosecuted by the various anti-corruption bodies.

Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has sharply criticized the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari for not doing enough to stem the crisis in the country, particularly the bloodshed being spearheaded by the Fulani herdsmen.

The presidency and prominent Islamic bodies like the National Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) have fired back, accusing the Christian body of politicizing the problems being faced by the country under the administration.

Adeboye said recently that he had not publicly spoken about the bloodshed in the land because he believed more in talking to God about it.
