Nasarawa Rerun: SDP candidate wins Keffi East Assembly

Following the rerun election conducted in Keffi east constituency of Nasarawa state, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, Abdullazi Sule, has emerged winner of the poll.
Sule polled 7527 votes to defeats his closest rival Engr. Mohammed Wada of the APC, who also gut 7503 votes.
It would be recalled that INEC had on March 10, declared the result of Keffi East Constituency inclusive where the SDP candidate, Abdullazi Sule, was leading his APC counterpart, Mohammed Wada, with 97 votes, while 1052 votes were cancelled.
Sule scored 7234 votes, while Wada had 7137.
Nigerian Tribune observed the re-run elections in four constituencies affected in the state and reports that the exercise witnessed massive turn out in all the area visited.
Nasarawa voters were seen at their polling units as early as 7.45 am waiting for the INEC officials in most of the polling units visited.
The large turnout of voters will determine who will represent in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly.
Most of the centres visited, especially Makera polling unit at Angwan Rimi ward, the only voting point where the rerun was being held, many voters were seen waiting on the queue to vote.
A voter, Bala Kabiru who spoke with our correspondent expressed happiness with the orderliness of the process.
“I am happy that I have just voted. I have voted the candidate of my choice,” he said.
Another voter, Mrs Sylvia Musa said that the conduct of the election was satisfactory. “I voted around 8: 40 am and I am happy that I did that on time and I can go home.”
