THE Nasarawa State Police command has recovered about N5.6 million from Peter Oko, a cleaner at popular national bank in New Karu, Karu Local Government Area of the state.
The state Commissioner of Police Abubakar Sadiq Bello, disclosed this on Saturday, while briefing news men on the activities of the force for the month of October.
He explained that, the suspect, who resides in New Nyanya area of the state, was caught with a carton containing five million, six hundred and seventy-five thousand, naira (N5,675,000.00).
The CP said the suspect confessed hiding himself in the bank after the day’s transaction to perpetrate his crime.
The commissioner also said that, the force was able to arrest 32 other suspects in relation to crimes of culpable homicide, theft, rape and unlawful possession of fire arms.
He explained that, the force was able to recover 5 locally made guns, 3 vehicles and 3 motorcycles.
CP Bello said: “As you all are aware the ember months are here which is normally characterised with increased in economic activities and human movement of all people, this will also increase the activities of men of the under world and we are battle ready to combat them.”
