Nasarawa LG workers to receive 100 percentage salary in January

Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura

TWELVE months after receiving salaries in percentages, the Nasarawa State Government has approved the payment of 100 percent to all staff of the 13 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 18 Development Areas of the state for the month of January.

The State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs disclosed this on Thursday in Lafia immediately after the state/LGAs Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) meeting.

According to him, there is a little improvement in the monthly allocation of the LGAs in the state from N1.1 billion in December to N1. 3 billion in January.

The Commissioner said that even though the N1. 3 was not enough to pay 100 percent salaries of the LG workers, the meeting has decided that the ministry should augment the money with over N40 million.

He also assured all workers that the state government is putting measures on the ground in order to ensure sustainability of the 100 percent payment.
