The Igala community residing in Jankawa, Karu Area Council of Nasarawa state on Saturday elected Peter Idoko as their Chief in the area.
The coronation ceremony was held at the Chief Palace in Jankawa along with 20 chiefs from other tribes residing in the area.
In his speech after the coronation, Chief Peter Idoko thanked the Igala community in Jankawa, particularly members of the Igala Community Development Association (ICDA) for the confidence reposed on him.
He promised to rule in accordance with the direction of God Almighty and that his reign will bring desired development of the entire community.
Chief Idoko called for the cooperation of the entire igalas in the Jankawa community to enable him succeed in his new office.
While praying for good health and success of his subjects, Chief Idoko urged the igalas in Jankawa to be law abiding and live in peace and harmony with other tribes in the area.
Earlier in his speech, the ICDA chairman in Jankawa, Mr. Adegbe Zekeri admonished the new Chief to carry his subjects along in all his dealings in the community.
He charged him to be tolerant and give listening ears to all complaints and issues concerning the Igala tribe in the area.
