Nasarawa: Ex-YPP chairman lauds Gov Sule over commissioner-nominees

Published by

Former chairman of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Nasarawa, Bishop Matthew has lauded the state governor, Abdullahi Sule over his choice of commissioner-nominees.

Mathew who stated this in an exclusive interview with Nigerian Tribune on Saturday in Lafia, said with the appointment of grassroots politicians, he believes that the governor will deliver optimal results in the remaining four years of his tenure.

He expressed belief that Gov. Sule had done his homework well, going by the backgrounds, qualifications and impeachable records of the crop of commissioners he has nominated to man the state executive council.

The former director general of Nasarawa Labour Party gubernatorial candidate, Joseph Ewuga said with grassroots politicians dominating the list, the governor means business in delivering on his campaign promises.

According to him, the governor has made very sound choices in the nomination with men and women who have very inspiring backgrounds and records.

“The commissioner-nominees just screened by the Nasarawa state house of assembly awaiting swearing in are people of timber and caliber. A look at their records in their private and public service would excite any well-meaning individual.

“They are men and women of good record who have written their names in the history books of achievers. They have stood out, as the best in their fields of endeavours and are capable and fit for the job ahead.

“These are the very best, and we are sure that they would bring in their best to the execution of their duties, while in service to the state as commissioners of Nasarawa,” Mathew said.

Mathew added that, with the likes of Labaran Magaji, a federal prosecutor with the federal Ministry of Justice, Dr. John Mamman and a host of others making the list, the governor has again shown that he is ready to again ready to deliver on his campaign promises in his second term.

Speaking on the recent protest by the organised labour, the Secretary of Middle Belt Forum urged Nigerians to be patient with the President Tinubu-led government, expressing optimism that the president will deliver on his campaign promises.

While appreciating the president for his efforts so far to bring the country out of underdevelopment, he tasked Nigerians to be supportive of the government for optimal development.
