Nasarawa: 38-year-old man takes own life over alleged wife’s infidelity

A  38-year-old resident of Masaka in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Gabriel Iliya Magaji has reportedly committed suicide when he discovered that his wife was allegedly sleeping with his friends and neighbors.

The Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) of Nasarawa Command, DSP Nansel Ramhan, confirmed Magaji’s death to journalists in Lafia.

The image maker said the deceased body was discovered  in a classroom school in Masaka ,area of Nasarawa state.

According to him , “On Monday September 9th at about 7am, a report was lodged by a staff of Crystal School Masaka, at the Masaka Masaka Police  Divisional Headquarters.

“According to the report, a yet to be identified man was found hanging in one of the classrooms, in Crystal School, Masaka.

“The DPO led his men to the scene and untied the corpse and took it to the General Hospital, Mararaba, where he was confirmed dead by the doctor, so the corpse was deposited in the morgue.”

The PPRO, said further that  that no suicide note was found on the deceased, adding, that  the police had began a thorough investigation with the aim to unravel the remote cause of the untimely death of the father of three children.

Meanwhile, an individual who claimed to be familiar with the development and pleaded anonymity, said the man took his life after he found out that his friends frequently slept with his wife in exchange for money.

He said, “When he confronted his wife she said, she was doing that because her husband could not afford to bring food to the table.

“According to him, the wife confirmed that the husband’s friends in same community and neighborhood usually had sex with her and gave her money.

“She said that she usually use the money to buy food items which even the late husband and their 3 Kids eat,” the source said.
