NANS Senate commends Minister of Interior’s peace initiatives among students

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has commended the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his outstanding efforts in promoting peace among the student community.

As the ongoing 84th Senate sitting of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) continues in Oyo State at the Polytechnic, Ibadan, Oyo State, the apex student body has taken time off to eulogise the Honourable Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his outstanding efforts at promoting peace among the student community.

Recall that the event themed “The Role of Students in Maintaining National Peace,” convening from July 26th to 28th, 2024, has brought together student leaders from across the nation to discuss the critical role of students in fostering national harmony.

President of the Senate, NANS Headquarters, Afeez Babtunde Akinteye, said the Honourable Minister of Interior has demonstrated exemplary leadership in addressing the concerns and grievances of Nigerian students.

He reiterated that his proactive initiatives and consistent engagement with student leaders have been pivotal in creating a more peaceful and conducive learning environment

He said, “The Minister’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our campuses has greatly contributed to the overall well-being of the student body.

“NANS Senate recognises the Minister’s dedication to fostering an atmosphere of understanding and cooperation between students and the government. His efforts in promoting dialogue and amicable resolution of conflicts are commendable and have set a benchmark for effective leadership.

“As we reflect on the discussions held at today’s event, we are reminded of the importance of collaborative efforts in maintaining national peace.”

Comrade Akinteye affirmed that the Minister’s approach has served as a source of inspiration to all students, demonstrating that through mutual respect and open communication, lasting peace and progress are achievable.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Honourable Minister of Interior for his unwavering support and look forward to continued collaboration in our shared mission of promoting peace and security in our educational institutions,” he added.
