The National Office of the Agro Processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Support, (APPEALS) Project recieved delegation from the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC) to discuss the prospects of the beneficiaries of the project.
APPEALS project is a World Bank initiative which is implemented by the Federal Government in some selected states.
The delegation was led by Deputy General Manager, Business Development of NAIC – Dr. Victor Ofovbe.
The meeting which was a follow-up to an earlier working visit by APPEALS delegation to NAIC, discussed the prospects of Agribusiness insurance cover for APPEALS Project beneficiaries especially the WYEP beneficiaries who are currently undergoing trainings in various agricultural value chains across the participating states.
The essence of the discussion was to develop strategies to minimise the risks of losses occasioned by natural disasters, pest/diseases etc and to safeguard project interventions for beneficiaries.
The discussions are to continue at the APPEALS Project State Coordination Offices in the various participating states.
