NAHCON retains luxury Madinah hotels for Nigerian pilgrims

NIGERIAN pilgrims will be lodged in luxury hotels located in the Markaziyya District of Madinah for the 2019 hajj, just as they were for the 2018 holy pilgrimage, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has said.

According to the commission, this accomplishment was caused by its early expression of interest regarding the provision of lodging for pilgrims.

A statement by NAHCON’s head of Public Affairs Division, Fatima Sanda Usara, said the commission took the “bold step” early enough because accommodations in the Markaziyya district were limited and in high demand and thus were reserved on the basis of first come, first served.

According to the statement, at a meeting, the Adillah Establishment in Madinah, the regulatory body for service providers in Madinah, acknowledged NAHCON’s cooperation which it said had continued to make its task easy.

The vice chairman of the Adillah, Uztaz Usam Diyadi, noted that NAHCON staff in Madinah performed exceptionally in their assignments much to the delight of the Adillah.

Uztaz Diyadi prayed for the continued success of NAHCON management and expressed the hope that the two parties would continue to enjoy a cordial working relationship.

The chairman of NAHCON, Alhaji Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad, commended the performance of the Adillah and urged the body not to rest on its oars.

He reiterated the commission’s request for Nigerians legally resident in Saudi Arabia to be employed by the United Agents (UA) as part of the workforce serving Nigerian pilgrims.

The advantage in doing this, according to him, is ease of communication between the pilgrims and the Arab-speaking agents.

These legal residents, he noted, have an identifiable umbrella through which they can be located.
