NAHCO rewards staff for returning $10,000 found on aircraft

The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO) has honoured Mr Auwal Dankode, a staff member who found and returned $10,000 while cleaning an aircraft in Kano.

Dankode, who hails from Kano, was cleaning an Egypt Air MS 878 passenger aircraft at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) when he discovered the money on seat No. 25H.

Demonstrating remarkable honesty and integrity, he promptly handed the money over to the airline’s station manager.

In recognition of his exemplary conduct, NAHCO held a special event at their headquarters at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

Dankode was celebrated by the Group Managing Director/CEO of NAHCO, Mr Indranil Gupta, who announced that Dankode would receive a significant cash reward, an immediate promotion, and an appointment as NAHCO’s Brand Ambassador.

Gupta praised Dankode as a true NAHCO ambassador, embodying the company’s values of honesty, integrity, diligence, and hard work.

He encouraged Dankode to continue his exemplary behaviour and to let the values instilled by his family guide him to becoming a leader that everyone would be proud of.

Other NAHCO executives, including the Chief Financial Officer, Mr Adeoye Emiloju, the Chief Operating Officer, Mr Didier Steullet, and the Group Executive Director, Dr Sola Obabori, also commended Dankode for his integrity and urged him to remain grounded despite the recognition he has received.

As a newly appointed Brand Ambassador, Dankode will represent NAHCO at major events across the country, promoting the company’s brand and interacting with top officials and stakeholders.
