NAF offers free medical services to 26,000 rural dwellers in Zamfara

THE Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has flagged off free medical outreach programmes in Kanoma district of Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara, targeted at 26,000 beneficiaries.

The Head of Medical Team of NAF Headquarters Abuja, Group Capt. Ali Tanko disclosed this at the flag-off of the outreach in Kanoma on Tuesday.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the free health programme was inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Bala Bello.

Tanko said 26,000 beneficiaries from various communities in Kanoma West, South and East districts were registered to benefit from the free medical outreach, targeted at improving military-civil relation.

“We noticed that many people were suffering from various diseases and most of them have no financial capacity to go to hospitals.

“We deployed a strong medical team comprising Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists and Medical Laboratory Scientists for these three days of free medical outreach.

“We appreciate the support and cooperation given to this exercise by Zamfara state government and traditional rulers,” he said.

In his remarks, the SSG, Alhaji Bala Bello thanked the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar for considering the state.

Bello said the state government would continue to partner with all stakeholders to improve health care delivery in the state.

The commander, NAF 207 Quick Response Group Gusau, Squadron Leader Osenabe Osebhohigy urged people of the area to cooperate with NAF for the success of the outreach.

Some of the beneficiaries, Muhammad S-Fawa and Hafsatu Mani thanked NAF for the gesture.
