NAF did not conduct any mission in Yunusari ― Spokesman

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has refuted the claims in a tweet that its fighter jets had killed several residents of Yunusari Local Government Area of Yobe State while on a mission against terrorists in Buhari village of the state.

This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday by the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet.

He described the tweet as ‘false in its entirety  and called on the members of the public l to disregard  the fake news

According to him, NAF had on early September 2021, conducted a ‘no bomb or missile’ free mission in Yobe State but was not in Yunusari LGA as stated in the tweet.

The statement reads: “This tweet is false in its entirety. The NAF last conducted a mission into Yobe State (not Yunusari LGA) on 5 September 2021 and it was an armed recce.

No bomb or missile was even expended. Thanks.”

Recall that EONS INTELLIGENCE had tweeted that “Several residents killed and others injured as NAF fighter jets on a mission against Boko Haram/ ISWAP erroneously drops bomb in Buhari village, Yunusari LGA of Yobe State.”
