‘Na your mama’: Delta govt intervenes, directs withdrawal of query over viral video

Published by

The Delta State government has intervened following a query issued by the state College of Nursing Sciences, Agbor, to a student nurse, Osato Edobor, over alleged involvement in a viral video recorded during an event attended by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi, directing the school to withdraw the query.

In a letter dated March 28 and signed by the institution’s provost, Evbodaghe Rita Ogonne, the college confirmed the withdrawal of the query.

The reversal followed the directive from Joseph Onojaeme, the Delta State Commissioner for Health, instructing the school to rescind its decision.

Previously, the college had accused Edobor of participating in a “malicious act” by capturing an unofficial video of the First Lady’s visit to Asaba on March 27.

The footage, which circulated widely online, showed nursing students rejecting the First Lady’s title as “everyone’s mother” during a welcome song, a gesture many interpreted as political dissent.

Recall Tribune Online earlier reported that a nursing student at Delta State College of Nursing Science, identified as Osato Edobor, would face disciplinary action over a viral TikTok video capturing students chorusing a song in honour Tinubu’s wife with ‘Na your mama be this.’
