A businessman, Oyibo Moses, has dragged his wife, Joy, to a Customary Court in Nyanya, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), alleging that she wants to kill him.
The petitioner made the allegation in a divorce suit he filed against his wife.
“I now live under fear in my own house because my wife is constantly saying that she will kill me whenever we have a little misunderstanding,” he said.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Oyibo also told the court that his wife no longer played her role in the family as wife and mother.
“She is so disrespectful and has not been cooking for the family.
“I have tried my best to resolve the matter with her but all to no avail. I am tired of our marriage. I want a divorce.” he said.
The respondent who was present in court however denied the allegations.
The presiding judge, Doocivir Yawe, advised the couple to reconcile, especially for the sake of their children, and adjourned the case till April 26.
