My salary is N58,000, I can’t afford N20, 000 as our child’s feeding allowance, Naval officer prays court

A Naval officer, Abara Julius, has prayed a Customary Court in Nyanya, to reduce the N20,000 for the monthly upkeep of the only child between him and his estranged wife, Abara Queen.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Julius pleaded with the judge, Jemilu Jega, saying:”Please reduce the fee. I will not have any money left to care for my needs after N20, 000 is removed from my salary.

“I borrowed N600, 000 from my office for my wedding two years ago. I am still indebted to it.

“I have three more years to finish paying the debt. My salary is N58, 000 only. Please sir, temper justice with mercy.”

Justice Jega, in his ruling agreed and ordered Julius to pay N17, 000 monthly instead.

He also ordered him to take responsibility of the child’s medical  attention and education.
