My re-election victory is will of God — Bala Mohammed

Ishola Michael

Having been declared winner of the gubernatorial election for a second term, Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has called for a common purpose for the good of the people of the state.

The reelected Bala Mohammed said that the electoral victory is not for him in person or his political party, PDP but for the entire residents of the state irrespective of ethnoreligious and political parties affiliations.

Addressing Journalists on his victory at the polls, Bala Mohammed said that he was honoured by the mandate given to him by the electorate and pledged commitment to consolidate the success recorded during his first tenure.

Bala Mohammed attributed his re-election victory to the will of God and a collective struggle of the common men of Bauchi State who placed the interest of the state above their ones.

The Governor stressed that no victor nor vanquished outcome highlighted that in every game, there must be a winner and a loser but life must be made to continue.

He, therefore, called on those who lost the elections to support his administration’s move towards transforming the state because according to him, “All of us are trying to be part of the transformation of Bauchi State, we must therefore come together to do that, pushing party affiliation aside”.

While soliciting forgiveness from those he must have offended during his electioneering campaigns across the state, the Governor said that he has since forgiven all those who did one thing or the other against him to offend him.

He however noted that “it’s now time to face serious government business. We must continue the good works we started, we must complete ongoing projects and start new ones for the development of the state.”

Meanwhile, hundreds of supporters took to the streets of the Bauchi metropolis to celebrate the victory of Governor Bala Mohammed’s second term.

The supporters who were playing different political songs, carried the Governor’s billboards and posters while others were dancing away in jubilation.
