Speaking with journalists in Ilorin on Tuesday, the new police boss said that his posting was part of routine posting but only coincided with election period.
Fafowora, who said that he might even be redeployed before the election or when electioneering fully commenced, assured people that the police would on its part remain diligent in discharging its professional duties to keep law and order all through the periods of the elections.
He said the police would not shirk from its responsibilities but handle every situation professionally during the periods without fear or favour.
He also advised politicians in the state to play by the rule of the game as they engage in electioneering activities towards 2019 elections.
He said if politicians played by the rules of the game, the electioneering and the elections proper would hardly attract rancour, violence and other undesirable developments that could mar the exercises.
Fafowora said that election activities ought not to throw a society into turmoil and enjoined all stakeholders to ensure peace and orderliness prevail.
