My poor erection

I am a 47 year old man. I just discovered that I am becoming sexually weak. When I have erection, it usually comes down in no time. The doctor I saw tested my urine and found nothing wrong with it. He then gave me a tablet to take about an hour before action. I have taken the tablet once and was able to do it. Even with this, I still want know the cause of my problem, any side effects to the drug I was given by the doctor, and the way forward to my problem.
