My new album, Masun different from the trending slang —Queen Funmi

Published by

Contrary to speculations doing the round that  the Jutungba gospel artiste, Queen Funmilola Atewogbola-Bello, has joined other artistes that have latched on the trending slang tagged: Masun.

The bulky artiste, has set the record straight that her upcoming album is different and has nothing to do with the slang.

Queen Funmi, who is currently putting finishing touches to her sixth work, added that she had no reason to duplicate what was in the public space, rather her uniqueness and ingenuity was enough for her to foster her career in the industry.

The musician, who is also into fashion business, hinted that the title of the five-track album, including Masun, Igbayi Loyemi, Jutungba gospel and Oluwasun emerged from her father’s prayers last year.

“I got the inspiration when I was being blessed by my father sometimes last year. He said: ‘Queen, your glory shall rise and will not slumber. Ogo aye re ko ji, ko ma she sun. This was where I got the inspiration from. I believe the prayers are already working for me and I want my fans to be beneficiaries. This was how the whole thing started and I thank God for the success it has recorded.

“It also serves as a prayer point that people can easily connect with. The new work is one of my kept promises for my fans to always give my best. So, I want to urge them to have a feel of the song when it hits the market next year. However, this is also a way to show love to my fans in the Yuletide, as well as appreciate God for protection over our lives,” she said.
