My kind of sound differentiates me from other artistes —Fresh Dollar

Published by

Fast rising pop star, Nwolu Anthony, known by his fans as Fresh Dollar, is one who insists that his distinctive style of music differs him from other musicians. The accounting graduate from Caritas University Amorji-Nike, Enugu, is not leaving any stone unturned as he equally doubles as the CEO of his self-owned label, FBG Music Limited. Fresh Dollar, in this chat, talks about working with Orezi, actress Tonto Dikeh, plans for the future, amongst other plans.

Journey into Music?

My journey into the music world has been great and it’s like a dream come true because I have always wanted to do music. It took me time because I had to work really hard to get to this point today.  It also involves a lot of money. So, I really thank God for getting me to this point that I am today.

What passion do you derive doing music presently?

I have always loved music from way back. I used to be in the choir in church and was always a back up singer, music makes me very happy and anytime I am down mentally or emotionally, I just play nice songs to keep me in the right frame of mind.

What are you doing differently in terms of the quality of works that you put out that makes you unique as an artiste?

My passion for music has brought me to the level I am today and I know the music industry is like a competition. All I will put in to make my music different is good sounds and back to back hits by Gods grace. Also,  because I have passion for music and this is what I have always wanted to do all my life, I know that my music is going to be listened to worldwide because of my good sounds and vibe, so watch out for Fresh dollar taking the music industry to another level.

How has it been being a recording artiste and CEO of your label?

I will say it’s not been so easy, but God has been my main source and strength. It requires a whole lot of hard work I must say.

You released a song with orezi titled ‘Go gaga’, why Orezi on the song?

Orezi is the only one that I believe could give me that kind of vibe I wanted with the song. Also Orezi is like family so that was why I chose him to work with me on that song and ever since, I have received positive reviews and massive airplay.

Could it be that you are crushing on popular actress Tonto Dikeh, such that you used her as a vixen on your video ‘Faya Faya’?

Tonto used to be my childhood crush I must say, but now we are friends and I am very glad she agreed to work with me on the ‘Faya Faya’ video and I say a very big thank you to her and everyone that made the video a success.

Where do you draw your musical inspiration from?

I would gladly say from the street. The street inspired and still inspires me and also people like Bob Marley and 2face idibia.
