My husband starves me, our 10 children, I want divorce —Wife

A house wife, Sadiya Bashir, has sought for divorce at a Shari’a court sitting in Rigasa, Kaduna, Kaduna State, over her husband’s plans to sell their house and marry another wife.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the petitioner told the court that her husband, Abdullahi Haruna, does not provide her and their 10 children food.

Abdullahi, however, confirmed that he wanted to marry another wife, but had no intention of selling the house.

He stated that he had been providing for his family based on his capability.

According to him, he had been living peacefully with his wife until his plans of marrying another wife came to her knowledge.

The judge, Malam Muhktar Mu’azu, adjourned the case and ordered the couple to present their witnesses on the adjourned date.
